It all started with Viking Press stating that a career counselor would
not be the appropriate person to write a book on Finding Romance after 50:
7 Simple Job-Search Techniques to Help You Find Your Love. With over
twenty-five years of personal and professional experience as a career
counselor and relationship coach, I, Maggie, set out to prove them wrong.
I enrolled and am now certified as an Imago Relationship Professional.
There have been several appearances on NBC4 television and my Q&A column
on love and work issues called “ASK MAGGIE” is appearing in the Loudoun
Times-Mirror. Reading everything on dating and relationships after 50 that
came across my radar screen in the last 5 years, it was evident that
people, single professionals between 45 and 80, needed help with
communication, determining priorities, keeping healthy and having fun.
The concept for “Dancing Solo” grew out of this need to find myself, like
many others, still looking to have a lover, significant other, or just a
comfortable companion to share some joy. Most of us like people, we want
to have friends and share good moments. That is what “Dancing Solo” is all
about. We learn about ourselves and we learn how to build lasting
friendships with others. I, Maggie, offer you more than a seminar and
reading material on relationships – “Dancing Solo” is an experience of
self-discovery, social networking and learning some new interpersonal
skills.
